The Dale Manor Website

The Dale Manor is set in the heart of Northumberland in the Allen Valleys, an area of “Outstanding Natural Beauty”. The Dale Manor is a historic building dating back to the late 1800’s. I have been supporting the owner’s other websites and was approached when they were renovating the Dale Hotel with a view to building their site.

They were looking for a website that would manage their bookings for the hotel while presenting an online site that matched the elegance of the property. The site was to have a lot of information regarding the Dale Manor’s facilities and the surrounding area so visitors could plan their holiday activities their visit in advance.

We used the same booking mechanism that we had used on Langley Glamping, and this has worked very well again. This payment for the bookings can be completely integrated into the site or can send the user to a Paypal card site as can be seen in this case.

The history page shows the development of the Dale Hotel using a stylish timeline effect.

Project Brief

I met with Glen Todd from GT Joinery and Property Services to discuss their website. Glen was looking for a way to bring in new customers, but with a focus on the quality of workmanship.

We used photographs from completed work to demonstrate the quality of the work provided. A great example is on the homepage. Glenn has created a tree house that was built by for grandchildren, but the build incorporates parts of the treehouse the grandfather played in when he was a child. Glen provided us with a logo, so we used the green from the logo as our base colour throughout.

The site is optimised for mobile devices, as well as desktop, as well as being fully optimised for search engines. As GT Joinery and Property Services has a Facebook Business Page, we set up a facebook messenger box on the contact page and linked this with Facebook by creating an API.

Fully linked with Paypal, and optimised for search engines.

The team at Isary Fitness came to us to discuss the company branding and launching of their website. We initially worked on the logo, using the colours given by the Isary team. We created the company branding and applied this to the logo and the website. The website will give customers the opportunity to find out about the various classes available for all members of the family, and the benefits of exercise. We have also set up a blog within the website, so the Isary Team will be able to share the latest news and fitness tips.

The website will be launching very soon.

Henry Dancer Days is a fantastic charity set up in 2012 by Jane Natrass, in memory of 12 year old Henry Dancer who died as a result of Osteosarcoma. The charity helps families who find themselves in the same situation offering practical support when it’s most needed.

The charity supports children and young people under 18 years with Primary Bone Cancer. Grants are given to families whose child is undergoing treatment. Additional support is offered to them should they find themselves in palliative care.

Project Brief

When Jane approached us about her site, we were delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile cause. We updated her site to have a slicker, more professional feel to it. The site includes embedded facebook posts, twitter links, and an events page.

Testimonial

As a total luddite I was SO grateful to Boxwell Web design for making my new site so easy to manage. Nothing was too much as we set it up and Graeme went the extra mile in helping me to understand what would and wouldn’t work. I’m now thrilled with my much clearer and easy to use website for our charity
